The House
Melin-y-Plas
Melin-y-Plas or The House as we call it, is a large building suitable for bigger families who want privacy on Caerddaniel Holiday Home Park and need a lot more room than in our Holiday Homes. The property has a ground floor toilet that is not adapted for a wheelchair user; and there are fifteen stairs to the Second Floor toilet.
It overlooks Caerddaniel Holiday Home Park and the beautiful sandy beach below, and because of this the access to the beach is on quite a steep gradient. Those wishing to walk to the beach might find it a challenge but in a car it is just one minute away and a parking area is provided. Those without cars can ask at Reception and alternative arrangements can be made.
The Approach
The House is situated on the north entrance to Caerddaniel Holiday Home Park just off the main Barmouth to Harlech road (A496). The entrance has a gate of 14' width with a sloping drive to the garages and the front door. This tarmac parking area to the left of the garages is flat and is level with the front door.
The Ground Floor
The Front Door and Entrance Area
The Front Door has a 4" step and 1.5" door frame base and is 28.5" wide. The entrance is well lit and suitable for storage of a wheelchair. It leads to the Down Stairs Toilet and the back door for access to the Garden.
Down Stairs Toilet
This room has a sink 30" high and a toilet 18" high and is well lit with an access door of 26" width.
The Garden
The entrance to the back door is 28 and has a 6.5 step with a 1.5 door frame base that leads to a 7 step. The first part of the Garden Area is concrete and level and has a wall 38 high around the perimeter. The second part of the Garden Area has a 63 entrance to a grassy lawn directly in front of the House and views of the sea and peninsular with a 17 high surround wall. There is an entrance to the back Lower Garden and the access point from the Garden has a gate 44 wide with three steps 6 high leading to the grassed slope. This leads to the main entrance road down to the beach.
The Kitchen
The Kitchen has a door way 29" wide leading into a spacious area with a step of Ό". At the centre of the room is a dining room table, which is not fixed, with six moveable chairs. The units are 35.5" high and the Kitchen has strobe light.
The Hallway
There is a door along the Hallway to separate the Kitchen and it has a Ό" step and is 29" wide.
1st Living Room
The door way to this large room is 29" wide with a Ό" step and there is plenty of room for everyone. It has a nest of tables and a T.V with remote control. It is well lit from natural light as well as having five ceiling lights and four wall lights. This is a no smoking room.
2nd Living Room
The entrance is 29" wide with a Ό" step leading to another spacious room. The T.V and a Sky Box have a remote control and is situated under the wide window which allows plenty of natural light. There is also a lamp, three shaded standing lamp stand and six ceiling lights. A square table 29" high also occupies the room and has moveable chairs.
The Second Floor
1st Bedroom
The width of the door to this room is 29 wide which leads to a light medium size room with plenty of space around the double bed and a chair. There is a T.V with remote control and units at 34 high. It is lit by one ceiling light and a lamp with switch off point above the bed.
2nd Bedroom
The width of the door to this room is 29 wide which leads to a bright small sized room with plenty of space around the single bed, and has a chair. There is a T.V with remote control and a dresser at 29 high with a moveable stool. It is lit by one ceiling light and a lamp by the bed.
3rd Bedroom
The width of the door to this room is 29" wide which leads to a bright medium size room with plenty of space around the double bed and has an ottoman and two chairs. There is a T.V with remote control and units at 42" high. It is lit by one ceiling light, one lamp and two bedside lights with a switch off point above the bed.
4th Bedroom
The width of the door to this room is 29" which leads to a bright medium sized room with plenty of space around the double bed and a chair. There is a T.V with remote control and a dresser at 29" high with a moveable stool. It is lit by one ceiling light and two lamps with a switch off point above the bed.
The Bathroom
This room has an entrance of 29" width and is of medium size. It has a shower cubicle area with hand rail with an overall size of 43.5" X 29.5" and an entrance width of 19". The toilet is 17" high and the sink is 32.5" high. The bath has a reclined back and has a height of 20" and is a standard bath. There is an extractor fan in the toilet and is lit by two bright energy saving lights.
The Landing
It is 36 wide and connects all the rooms without steps. There is a chair at one end and is lit by two ceiling lights and a lamp.
The Stairs
There are fifteen stairs at 6.5 high and are 35 wide with a full length hand rail. This is not too steep and could be managed by those with walking difficulties with care.
Other Information
The House is maintained to the highest level and cleaned after each visit, regardless of the length of stay. We will endeavour to supply relevent aids that are requested on booking. We are always open to suggestions in which way we can improve the property and make your stay more enjoyable.
The Bungalow
Bwth Meirion
Bwth Meirion or "The Bungalow" as we call it, is a medium size building suitable for small families and couples who want privacy near Caerddaniel Holiday Home Park and need a little more luxury than in out Holiday Homes. This property is suitable for wheelchair bound disabled people as it is all on one level, however the facilities are not specifically designed for disabled use. It overlooks Caerddaniel's open fields and the beautiful sandy beach below, and because of this the access to the beach is on a steep gradient.
Those wishing to walk to the beach would need to use the walkway from the Bungalow along the A496 (flat) to the Main Entrance of Caerddaniel. There, a sloping hill leads you to the beach below. This would take about ten minutes down but a bit longer going back!
Those with walking difficulties would be strongly advised to use a car which would only take two minutes to get to the parking area provided. Those without cars can ask at Reception and alternative arrangements can be made.
The Approach
The Bungalow is situated on the main Barmouth to Harlech road (A496) just five hundred yards form the Main Caerddaniel Entrance. The entrance has an opening of 13' sloping to a parking area of tarmac on the right. This area is flat. There is a gate of 12'4" sloping to the Bungalow door. To the right, before the door, is a small garden area which is grassy and has a very small slope with a wall of approximately 6' high. There is a surround wall before the front door with an opening or 33" that has two 6" steps.
The Back Door(The first door from the driveway)
The Back Door has a 6" step and is 33" wide and leads directly into the kitchen area.
The Kitchen/Dining Area
The Kitchen area is very spacious with all modern facilities and is lit by six ceiling lights as well as lights under the Kitchen units which are 36" high from the floor. At the back of the room is a dining room table, which is not fixed, with six moveable chairs and is 30" high. This dining area has three ceiling lights and a lamp as well as a T.V with remote control. There is a door that leads directly to the Living Room area which is 31" wide.
Living Room
This is also a spacious room with a T.V and Sky Box with remote control and plenty of seating. It also has soft padded window seating 25" high, which overlooks the beach and the sea. It does not have a main coffee table and has room all around without obstacle. It has a small table with a lamp on situated against the far wall. It is well lit from natural light as well as having six ceiling lights and two standing lamps. There is a door which leads to the hallway which is 31" wide.
The Hallway
The hallway is 63" wide and connects to all the rooms in the bungalow except the Kitchen/Dining Area. There is a chair in the corner and it is well lit.
The Utility Room
This is a small room with a door 29" wide and overlooks the bay. It has all the facilities needed and has units 35" high. Other appliances are also stored in that room.
The Front Door
There is another door to the property that leads from the garden area. The access from the garden is via a concrete terraced area. There are two 7" steps to the door which is 28" wide and has a 1.5" frame base that enters the porch area. The porch area then has another door of 33" width on top of a 5" step and a 1.5" frame base. This leads into the hallway.

The width of the door to this room is 31" wide which leads to a light medium size room with plenty of space around the double bed. There is a T.V with remote control and a dresser 31" high with moveable stool and other units at 26" high. It is lit by one ceiling light, a bedside lamp and a standing lamp. There is also a sink which is 33.5" high.

The width of the door to this room is 31" wide which leads to a light medium size room with plenty of space around the single bed. There is a sink 33.5" high with other units at 34". It is lit by one ceiling light and a lamp with a switch above the bed.
3rd Bedroom
The width of the door to this room is 31" wide which leads to a bright medium size room with a double bed and a single bed as well as a chair. There is a T.V with remote control and units at 26.5" high. It is lit by one ceiling light and two bedside lamps.
This room also has an en-suite at approx. 58" X 102". The door way to this room is 31" wide. It has a toilet standing 16" high and a sink at 31" high. The shower cubicle is 34.5" X 34.5" with a 7" step to it. It has no aids or rail inside. There is also an extractor fan and it is lit by one ceiling light.
The Bathroom
This room has an entrance 31" wide and is of medium size. The toilet is 19" high and the sink is 31" high. The bath has a reclined back and has a height of 21" and is a standard bath. There is an extractor fan in the toilet and is lit by one ceiling light. There is a shower facility in the bath which has a glass door to prevent splashing.
The Garden
There is a terraced area of concrete around the front of the Bungalow which overlooks the Garden and the beach with a small wall 26" high. There is a bench by the front door on that terrace. To get to the grassy Garden Area with its 4' approximate wall, you would go down six steps at 6" high. There is a hand rail on one side of the steps.
You can access the Garden Area without going through the Bungalow by going along the side on the concrete roadway. The whole of the Bungalow area is self contained and walled.

The Cottage
Ty'n-y-Buarth
Tyn-y-Buarth or The Cottage as we call it, is a small medium sized building suitable for smaller families who want privacy away from Caerddaniel Holiday Home Park and need the quiet and peaceful surroundings that can be found in the quaint village of Dyffryn Ardydwy. This property is not suitable for wheelchair bound disabled people or people with walking difficulties as the steps to the second floor are quite steep. It has light green carpet throughout and magnolia painted walls.
It overlooks open fields with distant sea views and is self contained with ample parking for two or more vehicles. Customers can use the access to the beach at Caerddaniel Holiday Home Park as it is too far for those wishing to walk to the beach. In a car it is just ten minutes away and a parking area is provided.
The Approach
The Cottage is situated just off the main Barmouth to Harlech road (A496) in the small village of Dyffryn Ardydwy. The entrance to the road called Glanrhos on the left hand side (heading towards Harlech) is quite narrow but is sufficient for all cars. Follow the Glanrhos road down a sleeping road until you reach a crossroads. The gated entrance is directly opposite. This tarmac parking area is flat and is level but does slope gently towards the front door. There is a lip or step of 0.5" at one end where there is also two 7" concrete steps. However these steps do not have to be used.
There is a small garden area at the front of the Cottage which has a surround wall of approx 5' and is grassy. There is a wooden picnic table on the concrete patio area which is 30" high and has fixed seating 18.5" high.
The Ground Floor
The Front Door and Entrance Area
The Front Door has a 1" step and 2" door frame base and is 29" wide and leads to the small Hallway.
The Hallway
The Hallway is lit by one ceiling light and is 47.5" X 80" and leads to the Kitchen, Living Room and stairs.
Living Room
The door way to this medium sized room is 29 wide. It has a T.V and Sky Box with remote control. It is well lit from natural light as well as having six ceiling light and standing lamp. There is no coffee table in the middle of the room so there is plenty of access around the seating area.
There is also a little storeroom which houses the cleaning equipment and can be used as extra storage.
The Kitchen
The Kitchen has a door way of 26.5" wide leading into this spacious area. There is a dining room table standing 30" high, which is not fixed, with six moveable chairs. The units are 35.5" high and the Kitchen has a strobe light and a moveable lamp. It has two windows which allows a lot of natural light into the room.
The Second Floor
The Landing
The Landing connects all the rooms without steps. There is a chair at one end and it is lit by three ceiling lights and a standing lamp.
1st Bedroom
The width of the door to this room is 26.5 wide which leads to a light medium size room with plenty of space around the single bed. There is a T.V with remote control and units at 27 high. It is lit by one ceiling light and a lamp with switch off point above the bed.
2nd Bedroom
The width of the door to this room is 26.5" wide which leads to a bright medium size room with plenty of space around the double bed. There is a T.V with remote control and units at 42" high. It is lit by one ceiling light and two bedside lamps with a switch off point above the bed.
3rd Bedroom
The width of the door to this room is 26.5 wide which leads to a bright medium sized room with some space around the double bed. There is a T.V with remote control and units at 42 high. It is lit by one ceiling light and two lamps by the bed with a switch off point above the bed. There is also a Cot in the room with maximum side height of 35.5.
The Bathroom
This room has an entrance of 26.5" width and is a small size. The toilet is 16" high and the sink is 30" high. The bath has a reclined back and has a height of 22" and is a standard bath. There is a shower facility in the bath which has a glass door to stop splashing, and the width inside there is 26". There is an extractor fan in the toilet and is lit by one ceiling light.
The Stairs
There are twelve stairs at 8 high and are 28 wide with no hand rail. They are quite steep and are unsuitable for those with walking difficulties.
The Laundry Room
There are two steps at 8 high to the door with a 1 base frame. The door width is 25 and leads into a room that has a Washing Machine, Tumble Dryer and a storage unit 36 high. It can be used for storage and has a concrete floor.
