Access Statements:
Trawsdir Touring Caravans and Camping Park is a 5 star site that has Seasonal Touring Pitches and Nightly Touring Pitches and accepts tents with and without electric hook-up facility. It has separate designated areas for these which are easily accessible by vehicle and by foot.
Getting to Trawsdir
Own Transport
Trawsdir is approx 2.5 miles north of Barmouth and is situated on the main coastal road (A496) between Barmouth and Harlech. From Barmouth, you head north towards Harlech passing through Llanaber. Keep going along this main road until you see a very long straight stretch. Caerddaniel Holiday Home Park is on the right. Continue past for half a mile and the sweeping, wide entrance is on the left had side. (Just past the Wayside Inn)
From Harlech, continue south along the main road passing through Llanbedr, Dyffryn and Tal-y-Bont, and the entrance is clearly visible on the left.
Public Transport
The nearest Train Station is Llanaber, however this is a requested stop and has a steep hill to the main road and a 1.5 mile walk to Trawsdir.
It is advisable to disembark at Barmouth Train Station as it has its own disabled access facilities. From there the Bus Station is just a few hundred yards away and visible from the Train Station. There is no designated Bus Stop for Trawsdir, but the bus will stop outside.
Barmouth is the best place to join the public transport system. Ask the driver for Trawsdir.
Trawsdir Entrance
Trawsdir entrance can be clearly seen from the main road and can be accessed using any form of road vehicle.
Park Roads
The Parks main road is tarmac and link to all areas of the site. There are no pavements. There are some low speed bumps in some areas of the Park which operates a general 10MPH speed limit (5MPH where stated). There is full lighting around the Park on the roads.
Facilities
Disabled Toilet
The newly built and spacious Disabled Toilet offers easy access and usage for disable people. The Doorway is 33 wide and has a radar key. There is a Hand Rail against the near wall that is 26 high and 27 long.
The Toilet, 19 high, has a Hand Rail 26.5 high and has an Emergency Chord next to it that reaches down to the floor. The Toilet Roll Holder is 36 high to the top. The Sink at 28 is also surrounded by two Hand Rails at 32. The Soap Dispenser is 39 off the floor and is next to the mirror. There is a Hand Dryer and a Hair Dryer at 32 and a Bin which is 30 to the top. There is a wide Shower Area which has a moveable Shower Head set at 74 high and the Shower Button is 34 high. The main Shower Rail is 32 high.
The room is well lit through a window in the ceiling as well as 2 lights, and the walls are blue and panelled and the floor is eggshell white.
Launderette
The Launderette is accessed via a gently sloping ramp with a wooden Hand Rail 36 high. The entrance is 34 wide with a small .5 step. To the right are two Washing Machines and two Tumble Dryers both 36 high. The Coin Slot is 44 high, the same as the shelf at the back.
There is an Ironing Board on the far wall and it is accompanied by a Metered Iron at 37 high and a Metered Socket also 37 high.
On the left had wall is a sink unit at 35.5 high and 23.5 deep, and 4 moveable seats that are 17 high. The room is well lit with 6 lights, as well as natural light through 2 windows.
The walls are painted plain magnolia and the floor is pale blue and flat.
Washroom
The Wash Room Area has no door to the 55 entrance which has a small 1 step. There are Sinks at 36 high and the work surface is 23 deep throughout. The shelf at the back of this is 44 high. This area overlooks the main camping fields through glass windows across the whole of the near wall.
There are 6 Wall Lights in this area and it is lit throughout the night and the floor is tiled and flat.
Chemical Toilet Disposal Point
This small room is next to the Wash Room Area and the entrance is 28 wide. The disposal point is 24 off the floor and the Tap is 43 high. It is lit by 1 light and the floor is flat and even.
Reception Area
The Reception approach is on a level paved gently sloping corridor 56 wide. The two doors, both at 35 width, of the Reception, can be opened together. This leads into a spacious area with an elegant Water Feature and information stand to the left and the Reception Main Counter to the Right. This counter is quite high at 45 but there is a Disabled Access Point at 35 high with a hatched counter part that can be lifted. There are lots of shelving, and assistance is available for higher items. On the outside wall of the Reception is a Public Telephone which is 50 high.
The area is well lit by 18 ceiling lights and has an abundance of natural light, and the floor is slate effect tiles and even.
Childrens Play Area
The Childrens Play Area has a surround wall/fence and a wide 98 entrance. There are 2 benches with fitted seating at approx 17 high and the table 11 higher than that. They are moveable. The main Play Area is pea gravel but the entrance is surrounded by grass. The equipment is safety tested annually and checked daily.
Second Toilet Block/Family Room
This area is accessed from the walkway that separated the Reception and the Main Toilet Block, through a door which is 32 wide.
This area is divided into 3 sections.
1. Family Cubicle
This is accessed through a sliding door and the entrance is 33 wide. There is a Toilet that is 18 high and it has 2 Hand Rails at 29.5 high. There is a Radiator and a Bin near the Toilet. A Baby Changing Unit is placed on the far wall and is 36 when folded down. There is a Hand Rail at 29.5" high next to the Sink which is 35.5 high. The Soap Dispenser is 43 high.
The Shower Area has a curtain that divides the room. In this part there is a Wooden Seat that is 22 of the floor and two further Hand Rails at 29.5 high. There is another Hand Rail that is 37 high and stretches up to 68. The Shower Button is 54.5 high.
The floor is flat and even and the room has 1 long fluorescent tube light.
2. Womens Toilet Block
The entrance to this area is via a door which is 28 wide. There is a Radiator and a Bin to the right.
There are 4 Toilet Cubicles with entrances 21.5 wide. The Toilet is 18 high and there are Sanitary Towel Bins on the floor and Toilet Roll Holders on the wall at 33 high.
The Shower Cubicle has Foldable Wooden Seat at 22 and the Shower Button is 54.5 high. There is a Shower Curtain for privacy.
There are 3 Sinks 33.5 high and the Soap Dispenser is 43 high. There is also a Metered Hairdryer at 56 and a Handdryer at 46 high.
The floor is even and flat and there is 1 fluorescent light and 1 standard light as well as natural light through the many windows.
3. Mens Toilet
The entrance to this area is via a door which is 28 wide. There is a Radiator and a Bin inside.
There are 3 Toilet Cubicles with entrances 21.5 wide. The Toilet is 18 high and there are Toilet Roll Holders on the wall at 28 high.
The Shower Cubicle has Foldable Wooden Seat at 22 and the Shower Button is 54.5 high. There is a Shower Curtain for privacy.
There are 2 Urinals that are 23 off the floor.
There are 3 Sinks 33.5 high and the Soap Dispenser is 43 high.
There is also a Metered Hairdryer at 56 and a Handdryer at 46 high. There are Shaver Points at 54 high.
The floor is even and flat and there is 1 fluorescent light and 1 standard light as well as natural light through the many windows.
Main Toilet Block
This area is accessed from a paved area and is divided into 2 sections.
1. Mens Toilet Block
The entrance to this area is through a door that is 30 wide and leads to another door that is also 30 high.
There are 4 Sinks at 30 to the left that have Soap Dispensers that are a further 10 high. There is a Hand Dryer that is 33.5 and a Bin.
There are 3 Shower Cubicles to the left which have seating at 19.5 and 28 wide. The Shower Button is 44 high and the Shower Head is 78 high.
To the right of this area are 3 further Shower Cubicles with seating at 21 high and 32 wide. There is a Sink area as well and this is 32 high and 27 wide. The Shower Area is 36 X 60 and the Shower Button is 43 high and the Shower Head is 78 high.
The right hand side of this large area has a further 5 Sinks all at 30 high and Soap Dispensers at 40. There is a Hand Dryer at 33.5" high along the same wall and a dividing screen which separated the 3 Urinals that are 24 high.
There are 7 more Toilets with door ways at 23.5. The furthest Cubicle from the main entrance has a door that opens outwards. The Toilet Flush button is 36 high.
At the end of this section there is a Baby Changing Unit which is 36 high when folded down and a Bin.
There are 24 ceiling lights and it also has very good natural light.
The floor is flat, but very slightly sloped towards the drainage points on the floor
2. Womens Toilet Block
The entrance to this area is through a door that is 30 wide and leads to another door that is also 30 high.
There are 3 Sinks at 30 to the right that have Soap Dispensers that are a further 10 high. There is a Hand Dryer that is 33.5 and a Bin.
There are 3 Shower Cubicles to the right which have seating at 21 and 28 wide. The Shower Button is 43 high and the Shower Head is 78 high.
To the left of this area are 3 further Shower Cubicles with seating at 21 high and 32 wide. There is a Sink area as well and this is 32 high and 27 wide. The Shower Area is 36 X 60 and the Shower Button is 43 high and the Shower Head is 78 high.
There are 7 more Toilets with door ways at 23.5. The furthest Cubicle from the main entrance has a door that opens outwards. The Toilet Flush button is 36 high. There are Sanitary Towel Bins in this area.
Opposite the Toilets are a further 4 Sinks all at 30 high and Soap Dispensers at 40 At the end of this section there is a Baby Changing Unit which is 36 high when folded down and a Bin.
There is a Hand Dryer at 33.5 high on the wall adjacent.
The floor is flat, but very slightly sloped towards the drainage points on the floor.
There are 23 ceiling lights and it also has very good natural light.
